As we gear up for the 2026 midterm elections, Democrats are growing our people-centered campaign with the launch of our Local Listeners program.
After the Democrats’ historic Blue Sweep in November, one thing is clear – when we organize everywhere, we can win anywhere. Across New Jersey, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and California, Democratic coordinated campaigns recruited and trained thousands of volunteers, with millions of doors knocked, phone calls made, and texts sent, reaching voters across the country.
And we’re only getting started.
As we gear up for the midterms in 2026, the DNC is excited to share a new training opportunity: the Local Listeners Program, a seven-week virtual series that helps volunteers build the skills to have meaningful, grounded conversations in their communities.
The Democratic Party should be showing up in every community to hear from people on the ground, and this is our answer to that. Our Local Listeners will join a national feedback loop to understand voters’ feelings and attitudes in every state across the country.
As a Local Listener, training participants will learn how to:
Listen deeply and engage people with empathy
Become a part of a nationwide feedback loop to make sure we continue to hear from and understand what voters are feeling
Have effective conversations with friends, family, neighbors, and online communities
Navigate frustration, disillusionment, or confusion about politics
Talk about what Democrats are doing in ways that resonate locally
Strengthen their community by helping bring more people into the work
Become a part of our broader organizing infrastructure that helps lift up voter voices
The program begins January 21, with sessions every Wednesday. Anyone passionate about organizing, civic engagement, or supporting their community is welcome to join. Visit our FAQ for more information.

The midterms and fighting for a strong majority require more, but you are hiding this by not releasing the autospy of the 2024 loss. You make it so much more likely we underperform because we will not figure out how to deal with challenging issues.
We did it in PA, NJ, VA, NYC, and CA this November! Let’s have a Blue Wave in 2026 by taking back the House & even the Senate. But it’s going to be complicated with these Gerrymandered Districts.
