Democrats Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
This month, and every month, we honor the contributions that Latinos have made throughout this nation’s history. We celebrate the people, cultures, and traditions that make our communities stronger, as well as the trailblazers who have broken barriers in every field.
DNC Chair Ken Martin was joined by Eduardo Zelaya, the Virginia Organizing Director for CASA, to learn about the biggest issues facing Hispanic families in Trump’s second term.
Democrats are proudly working to advance solutions so that every Latino family can thrive, whether by increasing wages, bringing down the cost of living, expanding housing opportunities, improving access to health care, investing in our public schools, or delivering on the promises of immigration reform and good jobs to help all families achieve the American Dream.
Meanwhile, rather than bringing down costs and helping working families, Donald Trump and the Republican Party are laser-focused on manufacturing chaos, scapegoating Latinos, and waging war against the rights and dignity of all Americans. From ripping away critical support from Hispanic-serving institutions to massive cuts to Medicaid that will disproportionately affect Latinos, Trump and Republicans are deliberately attacking the very communities that help fuel our economy, enrich our culture, and uphold our democracy. Let’s be clear: Trump is leaving Latinos and hard-working families behind, all while he enriches himself, his family, and the wealthy elites around him.
As we strive to make the American Dream possible for everyone — including our fellow Hispanic neighbors — let us put to rest any doubt where Democrats stand: on the side of hardworking Americans and a country where your last name, or the color of your skin, does not determine whether the government is on your side or not.

Talk To Your Friends About the Impacts of Trump’s Failing Economy and Dangerous Agenda
Latinos are feeling the effects and paying the price of Trump’s reckless economic agenda. Take five minutes today to reach out to someone and engage in a conversation around rising food prices and the cost of living impacting your community. Is finding a job becoming more difficult? Are small business owners struggling due to tariffs?
But don’t stop there! Make sure they are registered to vote. Do they live in a state with a critical race this fall? Help them identify their nearest early voting location, plan a time to go, and make sure they have everything they need! Call Your Republican Member of Congress
Despite Republicans controlling the White House and both chambers of Congress, federal government funding lapsed after Republicans refused to join Democrats on a bipartisan solution to keep the government open and make health care more affordable for 22 million Americans. If you have a Republican representative, take a few minutes today and let them know you are outraged.
