The DNC has been all gas and no brakes this year as we ramp up for the 2026 midterms. Following historic off-year election success, Democrats have been working around the clock to continue the momentum by connecting with grassroots supporters, organizing everywhere, and ensuring we have the infrastructure we need to win big in 2026.
In 2025, Democrats have won or overperformed in 221 out of 249 key and special elections — a rate of nearly 90 percent — by running campaigns focused on lowering costs and improving the lives of working families. Going into 2026, Democrats are on offense while Republicans are on the ropes. Why? Because we’re fighting tooth and nail to lower costs for everyday Americans while they’re shilling for billionaires.
This momentum has been historic, and we could not have done it without the help of grassroots supporters like you. As we approach the midterms, we will continue to stand together as a united front to get Democrats elected up and down the ballot and achieve a blue wave in 2026.

Make sure you and your friends are registered to vote: Take five minutes today to register to vote or make sure your registration is up to date. Also, reach out to the people in your life TODAY and make sure they are registered to vote at a current address.
Trump’s Economy Comes Crashing Down
While costs continue to rise, widespread layoffs are dragging down Trump’s economy and killing American jobs. U.S.-based employers announced 71,321 job cuts in November — a 24% increase compared to November 2024. While families are forced to make difficult financial decisions each day, Trump couldn’t care less about making lives easier for Americans.
To make matters worse, Republicans’ refusal to act to extend ACA subsidies means health care costs will skyrocket for millions in less than three weeks on January 1. As Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans own the health care crisis they created, 22 million Americans will see their health care premiums increase next month.
REMINDER: Trump and Republicans are refusing to act on extending enhanced premium tax credits that will force premiums to more than double for enrollees in ACA health care.
While MAGA Republicans are stripping Americans of the resources they need most, Democrats have fought around the clock to make life more affordable for Americans. Every House Democrat has signed a discharge petition to extend the ACA tax credits for three years, and now only four Republicans need to join to force a vote on the issue.
Miami Mayoral Runoff Proves That Republicans Are Scared
As Democrats’ historic momentum continues nationwide, it’s clear that Republicans are worried. Democratic candidates have been shifting deep-red districts bluer, leaving the GOP to scramble to hold onto seats they previously dominated.
Last night, Eileen Higgins won her race by 19 points to become the mayor of Miami, an office that has been held by Republicans for nearly 30 years. While her opponent, Emilio González, ran a campaign supporting Trump’s toxic agenda, Higgins ran to make Miami affordable and accessible for everyone.
The DNC was all in on Miami, sending volunteers and coordinating bilingual organizing blitzes to get out the vote this year. This momentum proves that when we organize everywhere, we can win anywhere, even in a Republican-dominated seat.
One thing is clear following Higgins’ victory in Miami: Republicans are shaking in their boots. The GOP braced for a possible election loss in this race all year, leaving them facing midterm panic as more and more red seats flip blue. Even Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said that 2026 is “going to be a little more challenging for Republicans,” proving that the GOP is scrambling to hold onto power. Just last week in Tennessee, Aftyn Behn’s historic overperformance served as a major warning sign for Republicans. Despite Trump winning TN-07 by 22 points, Behn blew away expectations, forcing the GOP candidate to squeak out a single-digit win. Behn delivered the best performance for a Democrat in this district in years, proving that Democrats are on the offense and Republicans are scared for 2026.

This week, Chair Ken Martin and DNC Members from across the country are meeting in Los Angeles to prepare for next year’s midterms. To ensure that Democrats are best positioned to win everywhere, our organizing team will be unveiling revolutionary programs to mobilize voters across the country and secure Democratic victories.
From hosting listening sessions to hear what supporters need from the party, to engaging youth voters, to ensuring our state parties have the resources needed to succeed, the DNC is all in on 2026. As we continue to build the strongest DNC, you’ll be the first to know as we announce new funding and historic programs to ensure victories up and down the ballot. Fair Elections Are Under Attack
Last week, the Supreme Court ruled that Texas can use a racially gerrymandered congressional map, threatening fair elections everywhere. The map, which Donald Trump demanded, could give Republicans five more House seats. Justice Elena Kagan called the map “a violation of the Constitution,” as it threatens the integrity of contests in 2026.
The American people are pushing back against Republicans’ redistricting schemes. Just last month, California voters passed Proposition 50 by an overwhelming margin, proving that Americans are ready to stand up for fair elections. Democrats have been fighting year-round against efforts to stack the deck in Republicans’ favor, and the fight isn’t over yet.
Republicans know that they’re losing steam heading into 2026, and they’re pulling all of the possible strings to hold on to power next year. Democrats have all the momentum, and we’re not slowing down. We’re standing up for our electoral system, ensuring that every American has an equal voice and will not be silenced. These maps are a blatant violation of the Constitution, and we’re not backing down, even if we have to fight fire with fire.
