Get Out the Vote in Miami
Learn how you can get involved with Democrats in Miami’s mayoral runoff election and beyond!
While Trump spends his days partying at Mar-a-Lago with his billionaire buddies, playing golf, or building his gilded ballroom, Floridians are facing sky-high prices, massive debt, and a stagnant job market with frozen wages. That’s why Democrats are all in on Miami. Just last month, the DNC launched a bilingual organizing blitz to support Miami mayoral candidate Eileen Higgins ahead of the runoff election on December 9. For Higgins, becoming Miami’s next mayor means restoring trust in City Hall by cutting red tape that stops homeowners and small businesses from moving forward, and fostering safe neighborhoods, beautiful parks, and housing people can afford. Building Democratic power in the South is a major priority for the DNC, which is one of the reasons we are fighting hard to flip Miami’s mayoral seat blue for the first time in nearly 30 years. Miami families deserve a champion fighting on their behalf, not Donald Trump’s.
Ready to join Democrats? Here’s how you can get involved:
Support Miami’s Mayoral Race
While Eileen Higgins is running a campaign focused on lowering costs for Miami families, her opponent, Emilio Gonzalez, is a former Trump transition team staffer who supports Trump’s toxic agenda that is raising costs and ripping away health care from 1.5 million Floridians. As county commissioner serving much of the City of Miami, Eileen has led with integrity, experience, and a results-driven approach — fighting to build affordable housing units, investing in small businesses, expanding transit, and creating green spaces for families to enjoy. Miami deserves a mayor who will get things done for residents and small businesses. And now we have the chance to elect Higgins in the runoff election in the Miami mayoral race. But we can’t do it alone. Join the Democrats and make calls to voters throughout the City of Miami ahead of the December 9 mayoral runoff election! No experience necessary.
Know Your Rights at the Polls
On Thursday, the DNC and Latino Victory hosted a bilingual Know Your Rights training covering the essential rights every voter should know. If you did not have the chance to attend, no worries! The DNC has helpful one-pagers you can download and share with your community to make sure you are informed about your rights at the polls in English and Spanish.
Join Voz Democrática
Earlier this year, the DNC launched Voz Democrática, a new bilingual WhatsApp Channel dedicated to connecting supporters nationwide with the latest resources, news, Spanish-language volunteer opportunities, and more! Ahead of Tuesday’s election, we will be sharing more information about how you can support Eileen Higgins here. Don’t miss out!
Thanks for fighting with us! Together, we can make a difference.
In solidarity,
Jenny
