Thank You for a Historic 2025
From recapping big wins in 2025 to looking ahead in the new year, here’s what the DNC is up to this week.
Happy Holidays, Democrats!
This has been nothing short of a historic year. From the Blue Sweep in November to historic levels of grassroots fundraising throughout the year, the DNC has been on offense this year, standing up against the Trump administration and getting Democrats elected up and down the ballot.
The success we saw in 2025 would not have been possible without you, our grassroots supporters. Your generosity and commitment to supporting Democrats this year have made an impact nationwide. Because of your support, we’ve been able to strengthen the Democratic Party’s work at every level by supporting candidates, organizing communities, protecting fundamental rights, and standing up for the values we share.
Together, we’ve invested in a vision of opportunity. We made historic investments in state parties, funded revolutionary organizing programs, and held Republicans accountable in the most critical moments. Thank you for being a vital part of our work.
This week, we’ll be recapping more historic wins we saw in 2025, what’s to come in 2026, and how you can continue to stay involved with the DNC.
We’re All in on 2026
ICYMI: The DNC is launching new programs to support coordinated campaigns’ efforts to win up and down the ballot in 2026. The DNC is already gearing up to win big in 2026 and elect Democrats anywhere and everywhere in the midterms. We’ve launched our first two new initiatives this month: the Battleground Leadership Project and BlueMatch. These new programs will ensure the party’s coordinated campaigns have the high-quality staff and top talent they need early in the 2026 election cycle to win up and down the ballot.
The Battleground Leadership Project will ensure that our coordinated campaigns have talented leadership on the ground early in Q1. This six figure investment and proactive hiring push will set teams up for success to design, scale, and execute winning programs in 2026.
Additionally, we’re launching BlueMatch, a program that will match applicants to the DNC Talent Bank with candidates and state parties nationwide. There are thousands of passionate individuals who are excited to join our movement in 2026, and BlueMatch will ensure that these applicants are connected to the battleground campaigns staffing up for 2026. If you know someone who wants to work on a campaign in 2026, encourage them to submit their resume to the DNC talent bank: https://win.dnc.org/DNCTalentBank.
We have strong momentum going into 2026, and we’re taking every opportunity to become even stronger. We’re ensuring that our coordinated campaigns are set up for success next cycle, and are ready to get Democrats elected up and down the ballot. Interested in working for a campaign? Congratulations to Gary Clemons!
Last Tuesday, Democrat Gary Clemons won the special election for Kentucky Senate District 37! In another feat of Democrats’ historic momentum, Clemons won with a 47-point landslide victory. He overperformed the top of the 2024 ticket by a whopping 42 points.
With his win, Democrats have now won or overperformed in 227 of 255 key elections this year — nearly 90 percent.
Clemons is a United Steelworkers leader and U.S. Army veteran who campaigned on supporting working families, lowering costs for essentials, creating jobs, and representing blue-collar interests in the state legislature. He took 72.6 percent of the vote against Republican Calvin Leach, signaling a massive victory for Democrats.
Democrats’ overperformances in red states this year are a testament to what voters think of Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans. As everyday Americans face rising grocery and utility costs, Trump and the Republican Party continue to cave for billionaires. Democrats are fighting each day for working families, which is why we’re constantly overperforming in 2025 and will continue building momentum into 2026 and beyond.
This Is the Guy in Charge?
Last week, Americans watched Donald Trump rant for 20 minutes straight and were left with more questions than answers.
In a desperate attempt to convince the American people that he isn’t a complete and utter failure, Trump took to the airwaves to gaslight citizens about his imploding White House, failing economy, and humiliating first year back in office. While his reckless policies have caused mass inflation and skyrocketing prices, Trump and his billionaire buddies have sold out the American people for personal gain.
Feeling confused after his speech? We’re here to fact-check the biggest lies Trump spewed last Wednesday.
The Big Ugly Bill:
While Trump tried to claim his “Big Beautiful Bill” is helping Americans nationwide, the reality is that it gave billionaires massive tax cuts while making the largest cuts to health care and food assistance in history, including $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, putting over 300 rural hospitals at risk of shutting down.
Tariffs and The Trade War:
We all heard it. Trump claimed that his favorite word, “tariffs,” has brought success to the American economy. Here’s the reality: Trump’s disastrous tariffs are hurting small businesses and consumers, and have cost tens of thousands of American manufacturing jobs. The average American family has already paid nearly $1,200 in tariff costs.
Soaring Inflation:
Despite Trump touting that he was making significant gains on inflation, prices are rising at a faster pace than when he took office. CPI and PCE inflation are soaring, and everyday Americans are struggling to afford basic necessities.
