The DNC is Making Electoral Strides Nationwide
From holding Trump accountable to ongoing elections, here’s what’s going on at the DNC this week.
Happy December!
At the DNC, there are no off years, only opportunities to mobilize grassroots supporters and win elections nationwide. Coming off last November’s elections, the DNC faced a tough political landscape. With Republicans controlling the House, Senate, and the presidency, Democrats were at a serious disadvantage. But instead of cowering, we got to work!
In February, we elected a new chair, Ken Martin, and a fresh slate of leadership. Ken Martin promised to organize, recruit, and implement innovative grassroots strategies that empower Democrats in every state and territory — and in less than ten months, he delivered. From city councils in the Midwest to governorships in the South, Democrats showed up and won.
Thousands of volunteers knocked doors, made calls, and shared our message in their communities. Our Grassroots Team broke down silos and made sure supporters had the information they needed — whether through this Substack, or our strong social media presence.
And we’re just getting started. With midterm elections less than a year away, we’re carrying this momentum forward. Next year’s elections will shape our political future and directly impact the lives of Americans across the country, and thanks to the energy of our volunteers, organizers, and supporters, we’re ready.
This year, together we have proven there’s no such thing as an “off year.” And together, we’ll keep building victories next year and beyond.

Corruption Watch: Trump and His Admin Are Profiting off the Presidency
Donald Trump’s White House continues to be defined by corruption. Several new reports reveal that Trump and his administration officials are leveraging their positions for personal gain at the expense of American taxpayers.
Trump is earning licensing fees for a $150 record player and a $20 beer pong set that each use the official presidential seal, likely violating a federal law that restricts the commercial use of the seal.
A jaw-dropping report shows that a political consulting firm with personal and business ties to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem secretly received $220 million from ad contracts with the Department of Homeland Security. By citing the “national emergency” at the border, Noem skirted normal bidding rules designed to prevent waste and corruption.
The DNC is Committed to Fighting Food Insecurity
As Trump and Republicans’ budget cuts to SNAP leave millions of Americans hungry, families are making difficult choices as they struggle to put food on the table. While Democrats are fighting to support working families, we know our communities need immediate support.
Whether it’s hosting a local drop-off, volunteering at a food bank, or spreading the word online, every action helps ensure no one goes hungry this holiday season. Learn how you can support your community here.
Cattle Farmers Explain Trump’s Argentina Bailout
The DNC recently released a new mini-documentary featuring multi-generational South Dakota family farmers Charlie Johnson, Shane Merrill, and Frank Kloucek, who share their stories of how hard farming has become for them under Donald Trump’s disastrous trade war.
The Miami Mayoral Election Is Coming Up!
On December 9, the Miami mayoral runoff election will take place, and the DNC is laser-focused on supporting Democratic candidate Eileen Higgins. She is running a campaign focused on lowering costs for Miami families, while her opponent, Emilio Gonzalez, is a former Trump transition team staffer who supports Trump’s disastrous agenda that’s raising costs and ripping health care from Floridians. A Democratically-aligned candidate has not been elected mayor in Miami in nearly 30 years, and we are working around the clock to break this trend.
Just recently, the DNC announced a new bilingual GOTV blitz to support Higgins ahead of the election. Through activating our volunteer base, recruiting and training bilingual volunteers to take action on the ground, and hosting bilingual phone banks, we are working full steam ahead to support Eileen Higgins and secure a victory in Miami. Democrats are gaining ground in red states like Florida, and we’re not slowing down. Sign up to volunteer today!
Early voting opens THIS FRIDAY, December 5, through Sunday, December 7. Check your polling location and Election Day information today!
Aftyn Behn’s Historic Overperformance
In Tuesday’s special election in Tennessee, Democrat Aftyn Behn overperformed in her deep-red district, proving that Democrats are on offense nationwide. While her opponent, Matt Van Epps, campaigned on Trump-like policies that would raise costs for Tennesseans, Behn ran a hard-fought campaign on making Tennessee more affordable and protecting health care for her constituents.
Following a historic election season in which voters proved they trust Democrats more to tackle hard-hitting issues, Behn’s overperformance in a Trump +22 district is a flashing warning sign to Republicans heading into the midterms. Democrats are all gas and no brakes as we head into next year, organizing everywhere and competing in elections across the country.
