The DNC Is Making Historic Investments in State Parties and Fighting Republican Election Interference
The DNC is ramping up efforts to protect democracy, combat election interference, and strengthen state parties with historic investments to ensure fair elections and strong Democratic infrastructure.
Happy Tuesday, Democrats!
Democrats continue to stand strong against Donald Trump — thanks to supporters like you. While Donald Trump has spent his time embarking on nonsensical side quests and adding his ‘touches’ to the White House, DNC Chair Ken Martin continues to fulfill his promise to get the DNC out of DC and organize everywhere by launching the DNC’s State Partnership Program.
With critical special elections happening this year and the midterm elections approaching, the DNC is working tirelessly to ensure that our voter and donor databases are up-to-date, that our Party infrastructure is strong, and that we have the resources to support Democrats running at all levels. That’s on top of our work to safeguard fair elections and ensure voters’ voices are heard.
That work is more important than ever. In North Carolina, Republicans have spent the last few months attempting to overturn a state Supreme Court election decided by voters in November. And Trump recently signed an executive order that attempts to suppress voters, upend voter registration systems, and stop states from counting eligible mail ballots. These aren’t isolated incidents — they’re calculated steps Republicans are taking to test the limits of election interference and voter suppression.
This is an overwhelming time to fight for democracy, but Trump wins when we get tired and give up.
Now is the best time to step up. Whether you’re volunteering, donating, or sharing democratic wins with your network, every action counts!
Here are the latest updates from our team and the DNC:
DNC and ASDC Announce Largest-Ever Monthly Investment into Democratic State and Territory Parties
Last Thursday, DNC Chair Ken Martin, ASDC President Jane Kleeb, and former Vermont Governor and DNC Chair Howard Dean held a press call to unveil a historic four-year agreement to deliver more resources to Democratic state and territory parties than ever before.
Under the new State Partnership Program (SPP) agreement, each state party will receive a baseline of $17,500 a month, a $5,000 per month increase over the last agreement, and Republican-controlled states will receive an additional investment of $5,000 a month through the DNC’s Red State Fund, putting their total at $22,500 every month.
The combined investments total a monthly transfer of more than $1 million from the DNC to state parties — the committee’s largest investment into Democratic state parties in history.
These resources will allow state parties to invest in critical infrastructure and staffing, strengthen their data and tech operations, build on-the-ground organizing programs, and better prepare for upcoming election cycles — not just in the months ahead but in the years to come. Additionally, the new agreement includes the DNC’s commitment to hosting six regional training “bootcamps” for state parties per two-year cycle and the hiring of new ASDC staff, including five regional directors.
The new State Partnership Program is just another example of Chair Ken Martin’s commitment to turbocharging investments in on-the-ground organizing and party building.
This Week, Democrats:
Continue to fight for our democracy: As DNC General Counsel Andie Levien has explained, the threat we face right now is very real. After floating a third term, Trump and Elon Musk are taking steps to undermine our elections. That’s why we’ve filed a lawsuit to stop them! And while we achieved a major victory after a U.S. District Court judge blocked key parts of Trump’s illegal executive order, Democrats will continue to fight to block DOGE from accessing sensitive data and ensure states can freely run their own elections.
Called on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, to resign after putting national security at risk…AGAIN: DNC People’s Cabinet member Ned Price called out Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in a new video. In only a few months on the job, Hegseth has repeatedly threatened our national security and risked the safety of our service members. Price joined DNC Chair Ken Martin and others in calling on Hegseth to resign, as it has become increasingly clear that America’s national security is not safe in his incompetent hands.
This Week, Republicans:
Demonstrated that their standard for town halls is practically nonexistent: MAGA Republicans are committed to lowering the bar to hell every time they host a town hall, leaving their constituents frustrated and disappointed. Most recently in Florida, Representative Byron Donalds faced heckling from his constituents over his inability to answer questions related to DEI rollbacks and the benefits of DOGE.
Royally fucked up the economy: The country is bracing for a recession with costs hitting record highs. It’s no surprise that three in four Americans think the economy is faltering, and a majority say their financial situation is getting worse for the first time since 2001.
Senator Chris Murphy on Trump, Tariffs, and Democrats' Future (with DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta)
Last week, DNC Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta joined U.S. Senator Chris Murphy at the DNC Studio for an in-depth discussion on key issues affecting Americans. They covered topics ranging from the economic impacts of DOGE and a detailed breakdown of Trump’s tariffs to Trump’s proposed Medicare cuts aimed at creating a "Golden Age" for his billionaire buddies, and so much more!
This is the beginning of the DNC’s commitment to creating longer-form conversations with Democratic leadership to keep grassroots supporters informed and engaged with the Party.
