Hey y’all!
Welcome to week three of the Blue Print! Last week, you heard from our new Executive Director, Roger Lau, about his plans to build a Party ready to unite and win in 2025 and beyond. This week, we're hearing from the DNC's rapid response team.
This update highlights our newest digital account, FactPost. A huge thank you to the DNC's rapid response team — some of whom worked on the KamalaHQ accounts during the 2024 cycle and now help manage FactPost — for sharing insights on their social media strategy.
FactPost is currently active on Twitter (X), Bluesky, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. Give us a follow!
What is FactPost?
FactPost (@FactPostNews) is the latest — and in my opinion, greatest — social media account managed by the DNC. FactPost is the DNC’s official rapid response brand on social media, and its content holds the Trump administration and MAGA Republicans accountable.
FactPost publishes clips, news, and informational graphics at a high volume in order to cut through the chaos and noise of the internet.
In previous election cycles, our team used a channel called the DNC War Room to post rapid response and opposition content. However, in late November, our Rapid Response team created something entirely new.
FactPost’s Social Media Strategy
Building off the success Democrats saw with the KamalaHQ accounts during the last election cycle, FactPost’s strategy is to immediately call out Trump and his allies with the straight facts, before the GOP misinformation machine has a chance to spin the narrative.
By posting the facts and empowering our audience with data, FactPost draws a clear contrast between what’s actually happening in the world, and what Trump wants us to think is happening.
Once these posts go live, it’s in our followers’ hands to engage with them and increase their reach.
Your favorite social media platforms are owned by billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg—guys who have a lot more in common with Donald Trump than the average social media user. We have to be proactive on these platforms to get our messages into the bloodstream.
That’s why it’s so important that the DNC is investing in a content strategy that mirrors the internet and speaks its language. It’s essential for us to be able to connect with our voters and win more elections.
February’s Top Performing Content
In February alone, FactPost received up to two million impressions per day. Top-performing content included posts about Sen. Bernie Sanders' investigation into Trump's removal of top labor officials, a clip of Rep. Maxwell Frost protesting Elon Musk's access to the Treasury Department, and a meme related to President's Day.
Your support allows us to grow and stand taller against extremists trying to take over social media platforms. If you haven’t already done so, (shameless plug) please follow FactPost on X, Threads, Facebook, BlueSky and Instagram!
Ask the DNC’s Grassroots Team
Every day, our team hears from supporters with questions about the Democratic National Committee. These questions range from "How does the DNC use my donations?" to "Where can I attend local events?" to "WHEN WILL ELON GO AWAY?" Each week, we'll do our best to answer your questions, because this is your Party, too!
How can I directly support candidates running in special elections?
If you are looking for a way to get involved and put a check on Donald Trump and Elon Musk, consider volunteering to support Democrats running in April 1 special elections in Wisconsin and Florida.
Right now, we need to elect as many Democrats as possible who will check Trump’s and Musk’s power in their cities, districts, and states — and the best way to start is by winning these three races.
In Case You Missed It
After voting to put health care on the chopping block, congressional Republicans aren’t showing up for town halls with their constituents — so Democrats are instead.
We know real change starts with real conversations. That’s why we’ve launched People’s Town Halls — a series of in-person events in competitive House districts across the country where vulnerable GOP House members are running scared from their constituents. Over the next several weeks, starting with this in-district work period, the Democratic National Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Association of State Democratic Committees, and Democratic state parties’ “People’s Town Halls” will engage voters who have been left behind by Donald Trump and Republicans’ dangerous agenda!
You can see if there is a town hall near you at the link below. We’ll update this page regularly, so check back in if you don’t see an event in your state.
