It’s almost Knocktober, Democrats!
November’s elections are just weeks away, and the DNC is working around the clock to reach as many folks as possible leading up to Election Day! These elections aren’t just about winning and losing; they’re about protecting working families, defending democracy, and expanding our Democratic reach.
This week, we’re giving you all the nitty-gritty information you need to make sure you are prepared to cast your ballot and have it counted. We’ve compiled key election dates from across the country, registration deadlines, early voting windows, and everything you need to help yourself and your community stay ahead (because we are tripling our vote and taking our friends to the polls with us!).
We’re also spotlighting volunteer opportunities in critical races, from phone banks in Charlottesville, VA, to canvasses in Millville, NJ.
Whether you’ve got five minutes or five weekends, there’s a way to plug in.
This week, we are also sharing the latest from Chair Ken Martin, who is already on the ground, traveling across the country to support local organizing efforts and lift up the work happening in key districts. And if that wasn’t enough, we just released a new mini documentary on YouTube featuring Libby Schneider, the DNC’s Deputy Executive Director, delivering a sharp, honest look at what’s happening with farmers under the Trump administration. Watch it, share it, and use it to spark meaningful conversation.Let’s lock in and get to work, folks!

Congratulations to Arizona’s first Latina congresswoman, Adelita Grijalva!
Last Tuesday, Adelita Grijalva resoundingly won her bid to represent Arizona’s 7th Congressional District in the House after soundly defeating Trump lackey Daniel Butierez.
While Congresswoman-elect Grijalva focused on lowering costs and protecting Arizonans’ Social Security and health insurance, her opponent couldn’t find a Trump policy he didn’t like.
Now, as Mike Johnson struggles with one of the thinnest House majorities in American history, his job just got even harder, since Adelita has made clear she’s ready to fight back against Trump’s deeply unpopular agenda.
Congresswoman-elect Grijalva has also pledged to sign the discharge petition to force a vote on releasing the Epstein files, bringing Democrats a 218th vote and a bipartisan majority to demand accountability and transparency.
This election win wouldn’t have been possible without our grassroots coalition, who went out of their way to do their part to mobilize their community. Huge congrats to Congresswoman-elect Grijalva. We are excited to see all the great things to come to Arizona’s 7th District.
Republicans Will Own This Shutdown
The government likely will shut down tonight, marking the fourth government shutdown under a Trump administration. Donald Trump and his Republican Party would rather shut down the government than address the health care crisis they created.
While Trump continues to promote divisiveness at the expense of the American people, Democrats are committed to making health care more affordable, not less. That’s why Democrats proposed a commonsense funding bill that would keep the government open, while extending health care subsidies and reversing the devastating health care cuts in Trump’s billionaire-first budget bill.
Republicans shot that down, making clear they’re more focused on handouts to the rich than on the millions of Americans who are going to lose health care coverage.
As Trump and Republicans continue to lie about the disastrous impact of their billionaire-first budget and run away from the negotiating table, Americans will pay the price as their health care costs rise.

DNC Chair Ken Martin Getting Out of the Beltway To Stump for Debra Shigley.
Last month, ahead of Georgia’s runoff election, DNC Chair Ken Martin traveled to Alpharetta to rally voters and build momentum behind Democratic state Senate candidate Debra Shigley. Over the weekend, he joined Shigley on the doors, speaking directly with Georgians about the issues shaping their lives — from rising costs to threats to health care — and reinforcing the DNC’s commitment to organizing everywhere, including in deep-red districts.
On election night, Shigley delivered a massive overperformance in Georgia’s Senate District 21, a Trump +34 district. Her campaign added to a growing trend: Democrats have now won or overperformed in 45 out of 46 key elections this year. Voters are starting to reject billionaire-backed politics and putting their trust in the party fighting for working families.
Trump’s Policies Are Devastating Farmers
Trump has abandoned farmers. Tariffs, budget cuts, and the chaos of this administration have plunged American farmers into record debt. Countries have stopped buying American products, and China has totally stopped buying soybeans from the U.S. Budget cuts to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) have significantly reduced farm revenue.
The president has broken his campaign promises to help American farmers. Share this with your friends and family so that they know the impact Trump is having on farmers.
Help a Candidate who Needs our Support!
In the final 60 days of the election, the DNC is spotlighting 60 candidates who need our help to secure a victory in November. Dr. Alicia Johnson is the Democratic candidate for Georgia’s Public Service Commission in District 2! Keep reading to learn more about Dr. Johnson and head to her campaign website to find volunteer opportunities near you!

This newsletter is really well done. You guys are getting better and better with these. And I really liked the YouTube video about farmers. Didn’t realize the SNAP cuts will affect them. Somehow that video could be shared more widely—maybe on IG?
New Jersey is concerning 😬
