Three actions you can take this weekend to support Democrats
Here’s what you can do this weekend to support Democrats and fight against the Trump administration.
Top actions you can take this weekend:
1. Talk to a friend about the impact of Trump’s tariffs on something that matters to them!
Donald Trump promised to lower costs on Day One, but prices are rising instead. More and more companies are warning that Trump’s erratic tariffs are driving up costs, and everyday people are paying the price.
Trump and MAGA Republicans hope no one pays attention, so it’s on us to make sure the people in our lives know what’s at stake.
Here’s what you need to know:
A new HSBC survey shows that 72% of U.S. companies said tariffs have already increased their costs, and 77% expect those costs to rise further by the end of the year.
Many companies, including Walmart, Mattel, Best Buy, Ford, Subaru, Nike, Adidas, and Puma, have signaled that customers could see increased prices as companies deal with the ever-changing economic conditions under Trump’s agenda.
Everyone will feel the impact. Start a conversation with someone in your life:
Talk to your runner friend about rising prices for athletic shoes.
Talk to a parent about how toy prices are going up at places like Walmart.
Talk to your family at the grocery store about what they’re noticing at checkout.
Having conversations like these is one of the most effective ways to make a difference.
2. Help Elect Gina Ortiz Jones for Mayor of San Antonio
Early voting is already underway in San Antonio’s pivotal mayoral race, and MAGA donors are doing everything they can to attack Gina Ortiz Jones.
Gina was raised in San Antonio by a public school teacher. She grew up on reduced school lunches, earned an ROTC scholarship to college, and served in the Air Force as an intelligence officer deployed to Iraq. She’s running to make San Antonio stronger and more equitable for everyone. Read more about her priorities, from public safety to housing affordability, here.
Her opponent, Rolando Pablos, has a troubling record:
As Texas Secretary of State, a judge blocked him from handing over voter registration data to Donald Trump.
As a member of the Public Utility Commission, he voted to raise the cap on wholesale electricity prices — leading to shocking energy bills for Texans during the 2021 winter storm.

3. Get Involved With Your State Democratic Party
State parties are the backbone of Democratic power — and they need our help to win now and build for the future. Find your state party and get involved:
Run to be a precinct captain
Volunteer with your county party
Help reach voters ahead of critical elections
