One month after deadly flooding in Central Texas, Republicans have shamelessly used the suffering of Texas families as a pretext for redrawing congressional maps, while refusing to use their power to immediately deliver aid. But Texas Democrats are standing up for those families and all Texans by courageously using every tool at their disposal to put a stop to Donald Trump and Texas Republicans’ desperate ploy to skew the maps. Over the past weekend, members of the Texas House Democratic Caucus broke quorum and brought the special legislative session to a grinding halt. But it's not just Democrats in Texas going on offense and fighting fire with fire. Democrats around the country are united in calling out this scheme and supporting our colleagues in the Lone Star State.

For too long, Donald Trump and Republicans have tried to get away with rigging the system, breaking the rules, and scheming to hold onto power. It’s time to fight back. We are calling Texas voters all week, to let them know that Texas Republicans are surrendering to Donald Trump and pushing forward a gerrymandered map that tears apart existing districts and makes representation worse for Texans across the state.
