I really don’t want to print what my head wants to say so I will print what my heart wants to say from my own experience. My husband is a viral throat cancer survivor whose cancer metastasized around his jugular threatening his life. When he was diagnosed we chose to stay positive and as Christians, we prayed for recovery. We had no idea what recovery constituted. Without cancer research we would not have the doctor that was a forerunner and teacher about this particular kind of curable cancer. Before we chose this doctor, we prayed that our choice would be right. Unknown to us at that time, we chose one of the world’s leading doctors in this kind of cancer who taught doctors globally how to treat this form of cancer. Today, my husband is alive and well and can eat and speak and is cancer free. It doesn’t matter whether you are Christian or whatever, what matters is that dollars for cancer research made this possible and yes, it really IS a Miracle. Many cancers are curable and to defund Cancer Research is a hostile act against humanity in The richest country in the world or in any country. Donald Trump = Death and that is his goal so there is only him, his family, his sycophants who he thinks can’t get cancer because of their dollars. This is a moral dilemma and all Americans should stand up against this regardless of their theocracy or none. Human life should be regarded as a gift and not to be tossed out in the trash.

I appreciate the outrage, and the video is powerful, but here’s the problem:

1. The people who need to see this will never see it.

The voters who need to be moved don’t follow the DNC, don’t open their emails, and actively distrust anything with a Democratic logo on it. But they do listen to neighbors, church members, caregivers, veterans, teachers, regular people who aren’t trying to win a campaign, just trying to protect their communities. That’s who gets heard now. Grassroots messengers.

2. What we need from Democrats is framing.

Emotionally resonant, sticky language that regular people can repeat without needing a policy degree. Something like:

No parent sitting beside their child’s hospital bed wonders whether cancer research is “Republican or Democrat.” They just pray someone, somewhere, is working on a cure.

That’s why it matters that the new federal budget cuts funding for childhood cancer research, breast cancer research, colon cancer screenings, and immunotherapy. These aren’t “extras.” They’re literal lifelines.

This is about whether people get time. Another year, another graduation, another Christmas.

And if our elected representatives can’t understand that, then they’re not pro-life. They’re just pro-power.

That's how I'm going to frame it!
