We Stand with Minnesota
Donald Trump and his administration think they can threaten and intimidate us into silence and compliance through violence and coercion. But they’re wrong.

Last weekend, masked federal agents murdered Alex Pretti, a U.S. citizen and ICU nurse, in broad daylight. Donald Trump has turned federal law enforcement into a political tool and a weapon of chaos that has terrorized communities and targeted American citizens, lawful residents, and children. Immediately after the horrific shooting, Trump administration officials took to the airwaves to slander the man killed by federal agents, abdicate responsibility, and tell Americans not to believe what they are seeing with their own eyes. Now, administration officials are desperately trying to backtrack their shamelessly manufactured false narrative to protect their careers and ongoing campaign of chaos and terror.
Meanwhile, federal agents continue operating in our communities with weapons, little oversight, and too much power. People are getting hurt, unlawfully detained, and killed. This is not okay.
We are standing with Minnesota and our neighbors for what’s right. Here are three things you can do:
Tell Elected Officials to Act
Congress controls the funding for ICE and CBP. If lawmakers don’t act, federal immigration enforcement will keep operating the same way. But you have the power to change that. You can pressure them to:
Demand an end to the ICE operation in Minneapolis and stop other large-scale escalations in our communities.
Call for a clear and open investigation into the killings of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti and their failure to hold its agents accountable to the law.
This week, Senate Democrats refused to give ICE a blank check with zero accountability. Afterwards, Republicans caved to Democratic demands by agreeing to amend the DHS funding bill and setting a two-week deadline to negotiate critical reforms.
Thank your Democratic Senator for standing up against Donald Trump, and holding the line against funding for ICE without accountability.
Show Up: ICE Out for Good
A broad national coalition of partner organizations has come together for a coordinated response with events happening across the country. If there is an ICE Out for Good action near you, go and bring a friend.
REMINDER: The First Amendment protects your right to assemble and express your views through protest.
Learn How to Protect Your Community
If ICE shows up in your community, there are several actions you can take. Here’s what you can do:
View the ACLU’s Know Your Rights Training
View the ILRC’s Immigration Know Your Rights and Advocate Training
View the ILRC Know Your Rights and NIJC Know Your Rights pages
Save the phone number of a rapid response hotline
We’re not powerless, as long as we stand together. Share these actions with your community by sharing this post or the guide below.
Thanks for fighting with us! Together, we can make a difference.
In solidarity,
Jenny

ICE does not need to be armed. An “armed ICE” has proven to be too lethal to innocent citizens, dangerous to the careless gun-handling agents themselves, and injurious to fellow agents accidentally shot by another careless ICE agent. https://hotbuttons.substack.com/p/reform-homeland-security?r=3m1bs
