Pritzker and Newsom are showing you what we want. No more ivory tower nonsense. No more Hollywood donors who think they’re political scientists, no more Oprah as we watch her bestie fly off in Bezos rocket. We see who is truly on our side and who isn’t. We want fight. I’m not looking for a book club, I’m looking for leaders.

Many of us have been building small grassroots platforms around the same idea: calm, values-forward messaging that everyday people can share with their own networks. Excited to see the DNC leaning into the ecosystem approach. It matters here in Alabama.

I'd like to start a platform, too. Would you mind sharing some of the ones you mentioned so I can get some ideas?

Sorry I wasn't able to respond early. I'm focused on the South, so my suggestions are focused on that geographic area. Obviously, I think you should follow me! I'm on Twitter, Facebook, BlueSky, Threads, Spoutible, Instagram, Substack, TikTok, and Sez Us. Alabama has Alabama Values and Alabama Progress (Values is on Twitter, and Progress is on TikTok). Also, look at NC Local Progressives. That should give you a few to look at and see if any fit your vision. Hope that helps! If I think of more I will add to this chat. Good luck and feel free to reach out!

The way I see it, the invasion of one state by another is a call to state Governors to mobilize their National Guards to resist UNLAWFUL assault. Also, the gerrymander fight is on. There is a new playbook. The old rules have been struck down by the Supreme Court. We need to change the gears here as fast as possible for deadly preemptive strikes. Newsom has moved out on this already. Who is next? Hochul. Where are you? Pritzker. What are you doing?

My interpretation of wanting “more normal” = authenticity, which would be an honest response to reality in the moment, thus it’s just truth, no consultant reviewed speech. Also, the DNC is disregarding the will of a majority of its base - STOP funding Israel, support ALL dems/independents who garner constituent support (not just centrist corporate dems, who often appear aligned with republicans), like Crockett, AOC, Bernie, Van Holland, Mamdani…, and give the authentic, passionate morally courageous truth-tellers center stage. Utter failure to continue to prop up politicians more interested in $ than of fighting for this country and humanity at large.

That the dems can’t back away from funding genocide is shocking; the DNC vote demonstrates they don’t care about what >90% of voters want…that’s betrayal bought by AIPAC, no better than acts the current regime engages in. The Palestinian fight for freedom kept voters away last election and yet resistance to stand for humanity remains.

This, along with not fighting for real progress and accountability of big corporations and billionaires when we held power, leaves me with an unbearable grief.

I’m trying to be positive and am taking action to fight the regime, not dems, but I seriously need to talk to someone in leadership, because this is deplorable and this, disheartening!

What will a free people do in response to this? Nothing. George Washington and countless unknown patriots fought and died to create a space for freedom from tyranny, lost in one election. You talk, but you do nothing of any consequence - NOTHING!

Why is the DNC voting to support genocide in Palestine?

Why do Democrats accept AIPAC money?
